The Plateau Idol is geared towards discovering, unveiling, promoting and empowering talents in the Music/ Entertainment Industry and Tourism sector. It is a carefully designed Platform and Stage with the sole purpose of catalyzing the sustainable development of youth and musical talent in the state.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
AGE: The competition is strictly opened to people between the ages of 16 to 35 years
FOR OF IDENTITY: Applicants must bring along with them any form of identity on the audition day. (i.e. National ID/School ID/Birth certificate/driver’s license etc.)
NATIONALITY Applicant must be a citizen of Nigeria by birth.
Please Note:
All applicants that have made payment for registrations are required to come with prove of payment to the audition venue. These include bank teller and forms gotten directly from our marketing Agents/Reps.
Indecent dressing is strictly forbidden and entry with children below 5 years is also prohibited.
Ist Audition: Coming up 6th July, 2019 by 9am @ Azi Nyako Youth Center Dadin Kowa Jos, Plateau State.
Every contestant who would have successfully registered is to pick a song he/she is comfortable with and present it, as he/she will be screened by our judges. 50% of total participants are required from this first stage.
Opening Gala Nite:
28th July 2019. Red carpet starts by 2pm at Azi Nyako Youth Center Dadin Kowa Jos, Plateau state.
At this stage, the floor will be open for fans to begin voting for their favorite contestants.
Contestants choose any song they prefer. No specifications. All of them move to the next week.
2nd week:
(Soul Music)
4th August 2019 by 3pm @ Azi Nyako Youth Center Dadin Kowa Jos, Plateau State.
Any two or three soul artiste will be chosen and the contestant performs a song by any of the selected artiste.The contestant gets to choose the artiste, and the song he/she wishes to perform as our judges takes note.
3rd Live Show:
(Reggae music) 11th August 2019 by 3pm @ Azi Nyako Youth Center Dadin Kowa Jos, Plateau state.
Contestants are to present using this genre of music and 4 people will be evicted from this stage.
4th Live Show:
(African) 18th August 2019 by 3pm @ Azi Nyako Youth Center Dadin Kowa Jos, Plateau State.
Artiste like Fela kuti, Lagbaja, Brenda Fassey, Yvonne chaka chaka etc. falls under this category.
After all presentation, the last 3 contestants with the lowest vote will be evicted.
5th Live Show:
(Classic Duets/ Evergreen/Old School songs).
25th August 2019 by 3pm @ Azi Nyako Youth Center, Dadin Kowa, Jos Plateau state.
The contestants choose songs from selected artiste and perform on stage.
Judge gives verdict, and the last 3 contestants with the lowest vote will be evicted.
Grand Finale:
(Dancehall/Contemporary/self Composed songs).
Sunday 15th September, 2019. Red Carpet starts by 2pm.
Main Event: 4pm @ Crest Hotel and Gardens old airport road Jos, Plateau State.
Nine (9) people will be left at this stage, the three highest grossing winners gets the prizes.
The Winner Get:
N100,000 + Studio Session + Video Production + Acoustic guitar, and Promotions.
1st Runner Up Get:
N70,000 + Studio Session, and Promotions.
2nd Runner Up Get:
N50,000
– There will be at least 3 media tours where Contestants will be interviewed.
– Contestants at this stage will compose a theme song for the Plateau Idol show which they would sing whenever they go to radio stations..
– Resource persons will come and give orientation on a topic that will be decided at a later date.
– Contestants will have a music instructor/vocal coach who will vet all songs before live performance,
– Contestants will have rehearsals before the live performances with a live band or instrumentalist of their choice.
– At this stage, a known celebrity will grace the event.
Costuming is key too so all contestants are expected to look nice.
Performance on this stage, contestants will appear twice before the audience and judges to perform any dancehall song.
First appearance will be for any artiste song of his/her choice and the second time for his/her own personal composed song.
Please Note:
The judges verdict carries 50%, and the votes 50% at the grand finale stage.
